Bethany Saltman is devoted to guiding writers as they craft books and literary careers that change the world. Through her decades as a book-development expert and co-host of the podcast BOOKBOUND, she has created a unique approach to shepherding authors through the process of finding their unique authority and writing exceptional book proposals and bestselling books. 

Bethany is also a widely published poet who received an MFA from Brooklyn College, a popular essayist, and the author of the critically acclaimed book, Strange Situation: A Mother’s Journey Into the Science of Attachment (2020, Random House). Strange Situation was named one of the Top Science Books by New Scientist, published in six countries, and is included in psychology syllabi around the world. Bethany splits her time between the Catskills of New York and the Upper West Side of Manhattan. She is a longtime Zen practitioner, as well as a Brown-University certified leadership coach.

Bethany’s highly selective list includes expert-led narrative nonfiction—specifically mental health, science, culture, big ideas, and business—along with a very select literary fiction list.
